Measuring flow of C11-C14 Hydrocarbons:

Hydrocarbons with carbon-chain-lengths from C₁₁ to C₁₄ are complex, petroleum-derived mixtures commonly used as industrial solvents, cleaning agents, and blending components for kerosene and jet fuel.

With Flowmax 400i, made of #PFA material, these liquids can be measured accurately and reliably for years without need for maintenance.

Carbon Range: C₁₁ – C₁₄ molecules contain between 11 and 14 carbon atoms per molecule (e.g., undecane to tetradecane).

Boiling Range: Typically falls between 180 °C and 270 °C (varies based on the exact blend).

Solubility & Volatility: They are clear, colorless liquids that are practically insoluble in water but highly soluble in organic solvents. They have a slow evaporation rate.

Flash Point: Generally ranges between 60 °C and 95 °C, making them combustible but not highly flammable at room temperature.

Typical Uses & Common Applications

Solvents and Degreasers: Used in metalworking fluids, industrial parts cleaning, and printing #ink.

Consumer Products: Found in cleaning solutions, aerosols, and barbecue lighter fluids.

Carrier Fluids: Acts as a carrier in pesticides, wood preservatives, and specialized paints.

Fuel Components: They serve as major constituents in kerosene and Jet A-1 aviation fuels.
